# Muzli — full description

Muzli is a design inspiration ecosystem for designers. Its core product is a free browser
extension that turns every new tab into a curated feed of the best new design work, drawn from
200+ leading design sources and blended with hand-picked editorial selections. Around that core
sit free tools designers use daily: a color palette generator, an inspiration search engine, an
asset store, a design job board, and designer profiles.

**800,000+ designers have joined Muzli**, and the number is approaching 900,000. Muzli is
available on Chrome, Edge, Safari (Mac), and Firefox. There is no mobile app at the moment.

## The Muzli extension (core product, free)

Muzli replaces your browser's new tab page with a personalized design inspiration feed.

**Why a new tab extension and not a website?** That is the central design decision. Instead of
being another site you have to remember to visit, Muzli sits in the background and delivers the
most prominent new design work the moment you open a tab. Without it, you would have to go
somewhere and check manually — which costs time every single day.

**It does not take your new tab away.** Muzli fully recreates the default new tab experience:
web search, saved links and shortcuts, and quick access to Google apps all remain. Every section
can be shown or hidden, so the page stays functional while adding the inspiration feed on top.

**Performance.** Content is cached and preloaded, so the new tab opens instantly and browsing
stays as fast as it was before installing.

**Customization.** You choose which design categories and sources appear, adjust the layout, and
show or hide individual sections.

**Personalization.** The feed learns from the categories and sources you engage with, and
interests can also be tuned explicitly — UI design, branding, illustration, 3D, and more.

### Where the content comes from

Muzli continuously scans **200+ leading design sources** — top galleries, studio blogs, and
design communities — and combines them with hand-picked editorial selections. Curation happens
two ways: Muzli's own editorial team hand-picks a large share of what appears, and for the rest,
Muzli relies on the editorial judgment of the sources it draws from.

### How to install

**Chrome, Brave, Opera, and other Chromium browsers.** Open the Chrome Web Store listing and click
"Add to Chrome". Muzli replaces the new tab immediately. If Chrome asks whether to keep the changed
new tab page, choose "Keep it".

**Microsoft Edge.** Install from Microsoft Edge Add-ons and click "Get". Edge walks you through
turning Muzli on.

**Safari on Mac.** Safari needs two settings after the install:
1. Get Muzli for Safari from the Mac App Store (free, macOS 12 Monterey or later) and open the app once.
2. Click "Quit and Open Safari Settings…" and tick Muzli in the Extensions tab.
3. In Safari Settings > General, set "New tabs open with" to Muzli. Until then Safari keeps its own
   new tab page.
