Designer (Boys Apparel)

Role Summary
The Designer will create and execute original, trend-appropriate designs for boys apparel, focusing on seasonal development from concept to delivery. The role requires collaboration with technical design, production teams, vendors, and other external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Research and identify trend directions; perform competitive analysis
- Create and present fabrics, design concepts, boards, mock-ups, color-ups, and inspirational photos
- Execute seasonal design development in the context of the assortment and cost structure
- Design according to style plans, sales needs, and emerging trends
- Ensure timely execution of product development calendar
- Create Illustrator sketches; review specification and line sheets; maintain design archives
- Select and review raw materials and trims; maintain fabric/trim library
- Approve lab dips with Senior Designer(s); review prints and graphics; advise on revisions; manage fit process
- Coordinate communication with internal/external customers and partners
- Build collaborative relationships with vendors and internal teams
- Contribute positively to team dynamic and manage up where necessary
- Attract, develop, and retain talent
Qualifications
- Superior organizational and excellent communication skills; team oriented
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented and creative
- Creativity, technical capability, and sensibility for merchandising; ability to sketch
- Extensive knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, silhouettes, color ways, sewing techniques, fabrication, and trim
- Familiarity with print design and manufacturing
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design
- 4-7 years experience in apparel design
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe products, and Mac computers
- Knowledge of using AI for fashion imagery and rendering sketches is a plus
