Role Summary
The Designer provides design support in project administration, design development, and contract documents, working under the general supervision of a Senior Designer or Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- Develop design ideas and create drawings with the team
- Draft technical drawings (Strong Revit required)
- Oversee all design and drawing for smaller projects
- Review engineering drawings for design compliance
- Research and select fixtures and finishes with Senior Designer
- Ensure integration of fixtures and finishes into design
- Prepare preliminary space plans for larger projects
- Develop and finalize space plans for smaller projects
- Review space plans and resolve complex issues with Intermediate Designer
- Provide detail for interior design projects
- Develop and deliver overall design and furniture packages for small to medium projects
- Assist in developing packages for larger projects
- Obtain and produce cost estimates
- Assist with field surveys as needed
- Manage design budget for assigned projects
- Mentor Junior and Intermediate Designers
- Oversee tasks and provide feedback on work product
- Conduct client interviews to determine space needs and requirements
Qualifications
- Graduate of architecture or design school (equivalent experience may be substituted)
- 5+ years’ experience in corporate interior design projects
- Extensive knowledge of design principles and aesthetics in corporate interiors
- Advanced knowledge of space planning
- Extensive knowledge of furnishings and finishes
- Familiarity with furniture layout concepts
- Advanced sketching and rendering skills
- Advanced interior architecture detailing skills
- Working knowledge of CDs and procedures
- Working knowledge of building systems, codes, and ADA requirements
- Working knowledge of path of travel requirements
- Working knowledge of contract administration
- Intermediate MS Office Suite skills
- Advanced Revit skills
- Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills
- Proficiency with InDesign and 3Ds Max
- Ability to manage and lead junior staff through direct authority and subject matter expertise
