Role Summary
The Designer provides support in project administration, presentations, concept design, design development, and contract documents for interior and exterior projects, working under general supervision of a Senior Designer or Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- Develop architectural concepts for interior and exterior repositioning and adaptive projects
- Create design ideas and produce both presentation and construction drawings
- Draft technical drawings
- Oversee all design and drawings for smaller projects
- Review engineering and landscape drawings for design compliance
- Research and select fixtures and finishes with Senior Designer
- Ensure integration of design elements
- Develop preliminary concept plans for larger projects
- Finalize conceptual designs for smaller projects
- Supervise Intermediate Designer and guide on space plans
- Provide detail for interior and architectural design projects
- Deliver design and furniture packages for interiors and exteriors
- Assist in package development for larger projects
- Obtain and produce cost estimates
- Manage design budget for assigned projects
- Mentor Junior and Intermediate Designers
Qualifications
- Graduate of architecture or design school, or equivalent experience
- 6+ years’ experience in workplace design, especially building repositioning, adaptive re-use projects, and corporate interiors
- Extensive knowledge of design principles and workplace trends
- Advanced presentation and space planning skills
- Extensive knowledge of furnishings, finishes, and furniture layout concepts
- Advanced sketching, rendering, and architecture detailing skills
- Knowledge of construction documents and procedures
- Knowledge of building systems, codes, ADA requirements, and path of travel requirements
- Working knowledge of contract administration
- Intermediate MS Office Suite skills
- Advanced Revit skills
- Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills
