Role Summary
The Graphic Designer – Handbags creates and manages development sketches, specs, and graphics for handbag collections, analyzes global trends, supports designers across regions, and ensures the timely, high-quality delivery of visual materials and production assets.
Responsibilities
- Analyze global fashion trends and prepare professional trend reports
- Create development sketches and detailed specs for handbags using Illustrator
- Handle prints, patterns, embroidery artworks, hardware, webbing, hang-tags, and related graphics tasks
- Support US and Asia-based designers daily, ensuring on-time delivery of assignments
- Handle additional graphic work requested by other departments
- Build accurate development specs and production spec sheets
- Generate seasonal styles line-grids, hardware charts, dangle charts, material charts
- Design full visual layout of seasonal product catalogues
- Set up Walmart production-testing CADs/line sheets
- Execute follow-up tasks from merchandisers and US designers
Qualifications
- Good at Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; able to work independently
- Proficient in basic Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- College diploma or above; 2-3 years’ experience in leather-goods, fashion or industrial design preferred
- Strong creativity, aesthetic sense, and sharp eye for color, composition, and handbag-specific trends
- Fast, flexible, and able to translate creative direction into finished art quickly
- High sense of responsibility; delivers work on time and in full
- Superior organizational and communication skills; team-oriented
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail-oriented and meticulous
- Creativity and technical capability for graphics and fonts; strong ability to sketch
- Extensive knowledge of traditional and web graphic production techniques
- Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or related field
- 4-7 years experience in graphic design with significant relevant experience
- Expert in Adobe products and Mac computers; highly proficient in Microsoft Office
- Articulate design concepts clearly and persuasively in English
- Proactive in giving progress updates and raising issues
- Collaborates smoothly with colleagues and US designers
- Excellent team-player; enjoys sharing ideas and learning
