Role Summary

The Handbag Graphic Designer is responsible for designing and creating handbag graphics and specs, supporting design teams, managing CAD production tasks, and collaborating on multiple creative projects to ensure timely, quality deliveries.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze global fashion trends and create professional trend reports
  • Develop sketches and detailed specs for handbags
  • Design prints, embroidery, hardware, webbing, hang-tags, and related graphics
  • Support US and Asia-based designers by delivering assignments on time
  • Handle additional graphic work as requested by other departments
  • Build accurate development specs and production spec sheets
  • Generate seasonal styles line-grids, hardware charts, dangle charts, material charts, etc.
  • Design full visual layouts for seasonal product catalogues
  • Set up Walmart production CADs/line sheets
  • Execute follow-up tasks from merchandisers and US designers

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; independent workflow
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • College diploma or above; 2-3 years’ experience in leather-goods, fashion, or industrial design preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or related field
  • 4-7 years graphic design experience; relevant category experience
  • Creativity and strong aesthetic sense; sharp eye for color, composition, and handbag trends
  • Ability to translate creative direction into finished art quickly
  • Meticulous, highly detail-oriented, and responsible; meets deadlines
  • Superior organizational and communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of graphic production techniques (color separations, camera-ready art, heat transfers, etc.)
  • Fluent in written and spoken English; comfortable reading design packs and emails
  • Proactive in giving updates and raising issues
  • Excellent team player; collaborative and willing to share ideas
