Role Summary

The Packaging Designer manages and executes packaging design projects for MAPEI’s multiple brands, ensuring quality and adherence to brand standards while collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors.

Responsibilities

Manage packaging design projects from layout through final approval
Create packaging layouts and artwork aligning with corporate and secondary brand guidelines
Review, approve, and route packaging proofs
Collaborate with Product Line Managers, Purchasing, Operations, and vendors
Incorporate revisions and stakeholder feedback
Prepare final artwork for print production; review proofs and printed samples
Review vendor-produced packaging and coordinate corrective actions
Support packaging quality standards and attend press approvals if needed
Maintain packaging design standards and documentation
Serve as backup approver for packaging requests in supervisor's absence
Adhere to company policies, safety rules, and work procedures
Perform tasks per Business Management System and EHS compliance
Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Art, Design, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
4–5 years experience in packaging design, textbook layout, or desktop publishing
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Ability to work in both Windows and Mac environments
Familiarity with electronic proofing and digital production workflows
Ability to distinguish between zones of color
