Role Summary

The Senior Designer collaborates with the sales team to develop creative and functional space and product solutions that fulfill client business needs. The role manages complex projects, applies expertise in branded products, and integrates interior design principles to realize client visions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sales team to define client design requirements and project goals
  • Develop complete design solutions including space plans, finish palettes, furniture specifications, and installation drawings
  • Ensure all design deliverables meet code compliance and quality standards
  • Perform field measurements, product inventories, and ancillary product research
  • Create visual presentations and lead client design sessions to secure approvals
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities, meeting deadlines and financial goals
  • Provide exceptional client service through creative, business-focused solutions
  • Apply deep knowledge of Herman Miller/Knoll systems and ancillary products
  • Coordinate with vendors for product information, pricing, and custom requirements
  • Review and revise design documentation to reflect changes
  • Mentor team members and contribute to process improvements
  • Communicate design concepts effectively to clients, A+D partners, and internal teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 8 years of dealer design experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and CET; strong working knowledge of CAP
  • Solid understanding of interior design theory and functional solution creation
  • In-depth knowledge of Herman Miller and Knoll systems and seating
  • Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills with a consultative approach
  • Detail-oriented with commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Experience mentoring team members and improving processes (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, Outlook, and IQ (preferred)
  • Broad knowledge of ancillary manufacturers and fabric vendors (preferred)
  • Ability to lead live design sessions confidently and creatively (preferred)
  • Experience managing large-scale projects and balancing design/financial goals (preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with proactive challenge resolution (preferred)
