Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in UI/UX design through active participation in real-world projects. The intern will contribute to the design process from concept to completion, gaining exposure to research, ideation, prototyping, and presentation. This role offers practical experience working within a collaborative, data-driven product environment while building a professional design portfolio.
Requirements
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES, including but not limited to:
- Design Execution: Assist in creating wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity mockups for digital products.
- Design Process Participation: Learn and apply the end-to-end UX design process, including research, ideation, iteration, and presentation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with designers and product managers to understand product requirements and user needs.
- Design Reviews: Participate in team critiques and present design work, incorporating feedback into iterative improvements.
- Tool Utilization: Use industry-standard design tools (e.g., Figma) in a professional setting.
- Project Work: Complete at least one meaningful design project suitable for inclusion in a professional portfolio.
- Documentation: Develop a case study that demonstrates design thinking, process, and outcomes.
- Team Engagement: Attend meetings and gain exposure to decision-making processes within a design team.
- All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Currently enrolled in or working toward a high school diploma or a Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of UI/UX design principles and digital product development.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma or similar platforms preferred.
- Strong interest in user-centered design and digital experiences.
- Ability to communicate design ideas clearly, both visually and verbally.
- Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to accept and apply constructive feedback.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Portfolio submission required (school or personal projects acceptable).
- Familiarity with AI tools in design is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Sitting for extended periods of time and extensive computer usage are required.
- Talking, hearing, and close vision abilities are required.
