The Mid-LevelAudio / Visual and Computer Technician shall:
Possess a thorough knowledge of instructional methods in audio / visual techniques and knowledge of the operation of audio, video, and information technology (IT) / computer equipment, with the ability to provide assistance with design / build of JMAS presentations.
Provide consultation and recommendations oncourse materials and presentation design to improve the effectiveness of instruction.
Provide assistance with design and presentation of audio / visual instructional presentations.
Assist in the update and/or maintenance of visual aids and lecture materials to ensure they meet modern, professional presentation standards and internal organizational specifications.
Be responsible for recording all JMAS lessons and the subsequent cataloging, media library management, archiving and media disposal in compliance with classification security guidance and Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) removable media policies. Provide audio / visual end user support and troubleshoot classroom audio / visual and computer systems.
Provide training for instructors, staff and students on the range of IT equipment used by the school to include classroom audio / visual and computer systems.
Oversee the creation and management of JMAS student computer accounts to include account establishment, set-up, maintenance, token issuance, and troubleshooting to the extent DIA regulatory guidance allows. Act as the JMAS liaison to the Academy for Defense Intelligence (ADI) and DIA for Information Technology (IT) issues.
Oversee and manage all student and faculty laptop computers, non- network printers, and associated supplies required to perform training tasks in seminar rooms, program classrooms, and exercises.
Computer and printer systems will be maintained in a fully operational status with current approved software and will be cleared prior to the start of each class. Technician will maintain a log of the operational status of all systems and manage the timely tracking, coordination, and replacement/repair of these systems in accordance with the JMAS Media Services Plan and in compliance with published DIA policy and guidance.
As needed based on mission requirements, provide offsite IT services for in support of a JMAS capstone exercise in Florida or, under extraordinary circumstances, an alternate venue as deemed necessary by the Commandant. Serve as the school liaison
with Office of Chief Information Officer, coordinating technician support to the exercise.
Perform research and provide recommendations on software/hardware requirements and facilitate approval, testing, and installation of school-specific IT or AV systems.
Actively support ongoing JMAS accreditation activities through participation on assigned accreditation committees and/or working groups and attendance at JMAS curriculum reviews; understand and support accreditation efforts by Council on Occupational Education (COE), International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET), and potentially others deemed critical by the JMAS Board of Governors.
